Upscale an image to 4K online
Your source aspect ratio determines the 4K request size. A 16:9 landscape image requests 3840 × 2160; a square requests 2160 × 2160. 4K is experimental, and actual dimensions depend on the AI result.
Upload an image to upscale
Start with your screen or layout
Check the target width and height, then choose a source with a similar aspect ratio. Selecting 4K will not extend a square image into a 16:9 wallpaper. Your screen’s fill setting may crop the top and bottom.
How the 4K request is calculated
Landscape images fit within 3840 × 2160; portrait images use the reversed bounds. Dimensions are calculated from the source ratio, then each side rounds down to a multiple of 16. This can slightly change the ratio. The table shows request targets, not measured results.
When the original is already large enough
If your source already meets the target dimensions, preview it on the intended screen or layout before processing it. Selecting 4K does not multiply each side by four or guarantee additional real detail.
Verify the downloaded dimensions
Check width and height in the downloaded file’s properties and compare them with your requirements. We return the AI-generated file without resizing it. If its dimensions or details do not meet your needs, keep the original and reassess its intended use.
| Source ratio | Example source size | 4K request size |
|---|---|---|
| 16:9 landscape | 1920 × 1080 | 3840 × 2160 |
| 9:16 portrait | 1080 × 1920 | 2160 × 3840 |
| 1:1 square | 1000 × 1000 | 2160 × 2160 |
| 3:2 landscape | 1500 × 1000 | 3232 × 2160 |
| 21:9 ultrawide | 2520 × 1080 | 3840 × 1632 |
All dimensions are in pixels and follow the current request calculation. The AI may return different dimensions; these are not guaranteed output sizes.
Frequently asked questions
How many credits does 4K use?
Each 4K image costs 18 credits and each 2K image costs 8 credits. Credits are only used on success.
How large can my upload be?
Static JPG, PNG and WebP images up to 10 MB, with an aspect ratio between 1:3 and 3:1.
Is 4K always exactly 3840 × 2160?
No. Dimensions follow your image’s aspect ratio and the provider’s actual output; portrait images swap width and height.
